We set off from the Marina del Este marina, 20 minutes from Salobreña. Motorboats with or without a skipper, an all-inclusive yacht and the Spanish Navigation Licence (Licencia de Navegación) course.
Salobreña has no marina, and Motril's port is geared towards fishing and large vessels. To hire a motorboat or a yacht, the closest and most beautiful option is Marina del Este: twenty minutes along the motorway and you're in the most spectacular boating area on the coast.
A-7 motorway towards Málaga, La Herradura exit, then the Punta de la Mona road to the marina. About 22 km.
From Salobreña a full day is worth it: you make the most of the 20-minute drive and can sail all the way to the Maro waterfall.

There's no marina in Salobreña with larger motorboats for hire. Marina del Este is the closest alternative, about 20 minutes away.
Yes: the Maro-Cerro Gordo cliffs, the coast's main attraction, are ten minutes by boat from Marina del Este and can't be seen properly from any other nearby port.
