Where to go

Routes from Marina del Este

The marina is inside La Herradura bay, next to Punta de la Mona. Ten minutes by boat and you're in the Maro-Cerro Gordo Natural Site.

Maro-Cerro Gordo cliffs

A Natural Site ten minutes from the marina: sea caves, crystal-clear water and seabeds made for snorkelling. The classic half-day route.

Cantarriján and El Cañuelo

Two of the free anchoring zones in the Natural Site: you anchor over sand, during the day, and swim in crystal-clear water.

Punta de la Mona and La Herradura

As you leave the marina, La Herradura bay and the Punta de la Mona cliffs. Ideal for 2 hours or for sunset.

To Nerja and the Maro waterfall

The full-day route: the whole stretch of cliffs, the waterfall that drops into the sea at Maro and the Balcón de Europa from the water.

Frequently asked questions

Can I hire a boat without a licence?

Not from 1 October 2026: the regulations (Royal Decree 1188/2025) require a qualification to helm any hire boat. You have two options: get your Spanish Navigation Licence (Licencia de Navegación) with us in a single day for €120, or go out with one of our skippers.

Which boat can I take with each licence?

With the Spanish Navigation Licence (Licencia de Navegación), the Nireus 620. With the PNB or higher, the Four Winns HD240 as well. The Azimut 46 always goes out with a skipper. Equivalent foreign licences are accepted.

How do I book and how much do I pay now?

You choose the boat and duration, check availability on the calendar and pay for the booking online with instant confirmation. The rest is paid on the day of your trip. If you prefer, message us on WhatsApp and we'll finalise the booking for you.

What happens if the weather's bad?

If we decide the boat can't go out because of sea conditions, we'll change the date at no cost or give you a full refund. No small print.

Is fuel included?

On the Azimut, yes, for the planned route. On the Nireus and the Four Winns, no: the boat leaves with a full tank and when you get back you refuel what you've used at the marina's fuel station. We'll meet you there to help you manoeuvre.

Do I have to take the boat out of its berth myself?

No. We handle leaving the berth and mooring up again while we explain the boat and the area. All you do is take the helm and enjoy yourself.

Where is the marina and is there parking?

Marina del Este is in La Herradura, between Almuñécar and Nerja, an hour from Granada and 50 minutes from Málaga on the motorway. There's parking at the marina entrance. Our office is unit 3.02.

Can I bring food and drink?

Of course. All the boats have a cool box. We just ask you to avoid glass and to be careful with sauces and red wine because of the upholstery.

Shall we head out?

Book online in two minutes or message us and we'll help you choose the boat, duration and route.
