Almuñécar has no marina of its own for hiring larger motorboats: the nearest is Marina del Este, ten minutes from the town centre along the N-340 towards Málaga. Our motorboats and the yacht leave from here.
Take the N-340 towards La Herradura, go through the tunnel and turn off towards Punta de la Mona and Marina del Este. From San Cristóbal or Cotobro beach it's about 10 minutes.
From the marina you can head east and see Almuñécar from the sea, with the Peñón del Santo and Cotobro beach, or west to Maro-Cerro Gordo. Many of our customers from Almuñécar combine both in a 6-hour trip.

Yes, the Almuñécar coast is about 15 minutes by boat to the east. With the Spanish Navigation Licence (Licencia de Navegación) you can go there as long as you stay within 2 nautical miles of the coast.
The course takes place at Marina del Este, ten minutes away. Many students from Almuñécar do it in the morning and hire the Nireus 620 in the afternoon.
Not from 1 October 2026: the regulations (Royal Decree 1188/2025) require a qualification to helm any hire boat. You have two options: get your Spanish Navigation Licence (Licencia de Navegación) with us in a single day for €120, or go out with one of our skippers.
